Taking Your Next Step In Following Jesus Christ

Distractions divide our attention and steal our time. There are many good things in life that Satan uses as distractions from what is best. We never find Jesus running around too busy or too distracted. He lived and modeled a different way of life and this is the life that you and I really want to live.  

So often we equate success with busyness. The busier we are the more successful we will be with but this is an incorrect gauge. One of the greatest enemies to our spiritual life is busyness. If we are not careful the busyness of life can take us away from Who and what is best. Join with the conversation on today's episode.

Being saved or accepting the free gift of salvation does not automatically enroll us into being a true follower of Jesus Christ. He has extended the invitation which we must accept or deny. If we accept there is a process involved that will help us tremendously to become a true follower. We will lay out the process in today's episode.

What does it look like to accept the invitation of Jesus to follow him? What are the practical implications that come with this type of commitment? 

In life we constantly experience trials. Each trial that comes into our life reveals something very specific to us about God and reveals that every trial we experience has purpose. 

Too many times we separate ourselves so far from those we are to reach that we isolate ourselves from them. Biblical separation turns into unbiblical isolation. Jesus gives us the perfect example of how close we are to get to sinners in order to be effective witnesses.

If we are going to reach others with the truth it will require us to get up close and personal with those around us. Even those who do not act like us, talk like us, or believe like us. Effective witnessing is done in an up close and personal manner outside of our Christian bubble.

It is important as we share Jesus Christ with unbelievers that we bring them to a point of decision. We must help them to see a decision needs to be made to either accept the free gift of eternal life to to refuse it. 

Don't talk about Christianity, talk about Jesus Christ. If we emphasize Christianity, it can become "this religion" versus "Christianity" or "that belief" versus "Christianity" and the conversation comes to a halt. Focus on the person of Jesus Christ and this paves the way for common ground and much conversation. 

Finding common ground with others in an important factor to take them from the known to the unknown. It is possible to use the words of unbelievers and use them as a spring board into the Gospel. 

God has placed a conscience in every single person on earth. We examine how Paul appealed to the conscience and how we too can use the conscience to lead someone to Jesus Christ.

Creation is the greatest revelation of God to mankind! It speaks all 7,000 plus spoken languages in the world today. Creation is our great ally as we witness to people so must know when and how to use it. 

It is vital that we know where our audience is in their understanding in order to start our witnessing in the right place. Paul reveals that for certain people we must begin at creation, with the truth that God is the creator. When should we start at creation and what benefit is there in beginning our dialogue here?  

More and more we are encountering unbelievers in our lives. How can we respond to those who are atheist, agnostic, skeptical, or ignorant of the truth? Paul provides us a great example that we can follow which provides some very practical tools that we can implement. These tools can help remove the fear in engaging and witnessing others.
