Taking Your Next Step In Following Jesus Christ

What matters most in your life? God tells us that protecting our heart is what should matter most because no one is invincible from Satan drawing their heart away.   

There is much to learn from the small very unnoticed ant. On this episode, we discover three powerful life lessons from the ant that we can apply to our daily lives.  

Our past can either haunt us or teach us. It can either hinder us or help us launch forward in life. How we handle our past mistakes is vitally important to us experiencing growth in our life.

We all make not-so-smart decisions in our lives. These decisions can cause us to get stuck in life hindering us from moving forward. It does not have to be this way!

Detours can be the most frustrating and time wasting hinderances in life. Contrary to our thinking, many times detours are the very thing that God uses to move us forward to our true destiny in life.

There are times in our lives when we just cannot see God at work. We cannot see how anything good could come out of our circumstances. We just keep asking, "Where is God at in all of this?" In this episode, we examine just where God is and what He is doing in circumstances like this. 

Another way to get out of our comfort zone and experience growth is to go somewhere you have never been before. This can somewhere geographically on a map or it can be somewhere locally. It could be somewhere different in the same building.

It is easy to get stuck in our comfort zone in life. We get comfortable doing only what we are comfortable doing. Why would we want to change? Getting out of our comfort zone will produce tremendous growth and new opportunities for that growth. In order to get out of our comfort zone, we will have to do something we have never done before. 

We expect the men and women who serve in our nation's military to devote complete allegiance to protecting our country and upholding the constitution. This takes first place in their lives. Why is it when Jesus Christ asks for complete allegiance of His followers we feel He is asking a little too much? Like that would make us some kind of religious fanatic? It is all about what has first place in your life.

Have you ever been distracted while driving and start to drift off the side only to hit those loud rumble strips? What happened? You were not  focused where you should have been. We can drift in our spiritual life as well when we have our priorities focused in the wrong direction. Sometimes we need some rumble strips in life to alert us and get us back on track. 

Time is a valuable gift and one that we can never get back. We defiantly should manage our time well. In order to do that, we must be sure that we have the right priorities and that those priorities in the right order. 

Does following Jesus require anything from us? What obligations do we have if we commit to following Him? In this episode we examine what Jesus said the cost of following Him is and determine if the cost is worth it.
